First Frost Review

First Frost by Liz DeJesus
Goodreads | Amazon |Barnes&Noble | Musa Publishing
Fairytales aren’t real…yeah…that’s exactly what Bianca thought. She was wrong.

For generations, the Frost family has run the Museum of Magical and Rare Artifacts, handing down guardianship from mother to daughter, always keeping their secrets to “family only.”

Gathered within museum’s walls is a collection dedicated to the Grimm fairy tales and to the rare items the family has acquired: Cinderella’s glass slipper, Snow White’s poisoned apple, the evil queen’s magic mirror, Sleeping Beauty’s enchanted spinning wheel…
Seventeen-year-old Bianca Frost wants none of it, dreaming instead of a career in art or photography or…well, anything except working in the family’s museum. She knows the items in the glass display cases are fakes because, of course, magic doesn’t really exist.

She’s about to find out how wrong she is.

Anna's Review:

I really enjoyed this novel. I loved of DeJesus used fairy tales that everyone grow up hearing. It took the novel to a whole other level. I mean who doesn't like the Brothers Grimm. It's classic no matter how graphic they are.

This story starts off with Bianca Frost finding out that her mother has been keeping secrets from her. You see, the museum they own has all the items from the fairy tales such as Snow White's poisoned apple, Little Red Riding Hood's red cloak, and even Rapunzel's hair. How cool. What Bianca finds out is that all these items are real and are connected to magical world that Bianca is connected to but never knew about.

Bianca finds out she is a witch when her mother is attacked by an evil witch searching for a spell book. Bianca must learn her family history and her magic pretty quick if she is to face her future fight.

Bianca has to learn it must faster than expected and alone because her mother is kidnapped. Bianca now finds herself on journey to find and save her mom in EverAfter. This is where you have a prince come into the picture...Don't get over excited though Bianca likes the prince's friend, Terrance.

This adventure leads Bianca through many obstacles that will finally bring her right to the evil witches door.  This is where present and history will collide when Bianca meets an interesting ancestor.

Will Bianca save her mother? Will she find everything she is looking for? Who knows but it is based on fairy tales after all. :)

I enjoyed this book and recommend it to everyone especially if you like fairy tales. :)
